Join us for a hands-on Beginner Bookbinding Workshop with local artist Jeannie Gambill, where you will learn the fundamentals of bookbinding while creating your own pamphlet-stitched art journal! This workshop is perfect for beginners and creative enthusiasts looking to explore the art of handmade books. In this session, you will learn the basics of bookbinding, including folding, stitching, and assembling pages; create a simple yet beautiful pamphlet-stitch binding; and use a variety of papers and covers to craft a unique, personalized journal. You will leave with a handmade journal ready for sketching, writing, or whatever inspires you! All materials are provided, but slots are limited. No prior experience needed—just a love for creativity and making! A lifelong maker, learner, and creative wanderer, Jeannie Gambill draws inspiration from the richness of the natural world—especially the Appalachian Mountains where she grew up—and the beauty of life off the beaten path. With a background in theatre education, she has spent years as a director and designer, a passion for the arts that now infuses her work as a mixed media artist and maker. Jeannie creates to make sense of the world, share joy, and express love. She has a special affinity for paper, constantly exploring its possibilities in bookbinding, collage, jewelry, and the creative use of vintage ephemera.
