(GWD) Adult Book Discussion: Tom Lake by Ann Patchett

Join us in the American Veterans Auditorium as we discuss Tom Lake by Ann Patchett. This 2023 novel tells the story of Lara, a woman in her 60s living on a Michigan cherry farm with her family during the COVID-19 pandemic. Her daughters, home from college, encourage her to recount her past love affair with a famous actor named Peter Duke, which began when she was a young actress at a theater company called Tom Lake. The novel explores themes of youthful love, marriage, and the passage of time, as Lara reflects on her past decisions and their impact on her life.
